This Privacy Policy explains how PeThoria Match ("PeThoria Match", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website (pethoriamatch.com), our mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, username, and password (stored securely as a hash). If you sign up or log in using Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google as part of the authentication process.

Profile, Pet, and Match Content

We collect information you choose to provide, such as your profile details (photos, bio, location preferences), pet information (name, breed, photos), swipe history, matches, direct messages, and other content you create or share through the matchmaking and messaging features.

Identity Verification Documents

If you apply for a Verified Badge, you will be asked to upload a photo ID (front and back) and a selfie. These documents are used solely to verify your identity and are reviewed only by authorized staff. They are not shared with other users and are deleted or retained only as required by law after review is complete.

Location Information

With your permission, we collect approximate or precise location data to power nearby-pet-matching features. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings; some location-based features may not work without it.

Payment Information

If you subscribe to a premium feature, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers — Stripe handles payment processing and is subject to its own privacy policy.

Usage, Device & Diagnostic Information

We automatically collect information such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, general usage activity (screens viewed, features used), and crash/diagnostic data. This helps us maintain, secure, and improve the Services.

Advertising Data

On our website and apps, we may display ads through Google Ad Manager and other ad networks. These partners may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies to serve relevant ads. Where required by law, we request your consent before showing personalized ads.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate you (including via Google Sign-In)
  • To operate core features: pet-to-pet matchmaking, swipe deck, matches, direct messaging, pet profiles, and breeding lab
  • To conduct identity verification reviews for the Verified Badge program
  • To process subscription payments
  • To send important notifications such as new matches, messages, and account security updates
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
  • To improve and develop new features through aggregated usage analytics

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google Sign-In / Google Identity Services — for account authentication
  • Google Ad Manager & Google Analytics — for advertising and usage analytics
  • Stripe — for subscription payment processing
  • Push notification services — to deliver match alerts and messages

4. Cookies & Consent

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure usage, and support advertising. Where required by law, we display a consent banner so you can choose whether to allow non-essential cookies, including those used for personalized advertising.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

  • With other users, as part of the matchmaking and messaging features (e.g. your profile and pet photos are visible to other members on the swipe deck based on your settings)
  • With service providers who help us operate the Services (e.g. hosting, payment processing, analytics, advertising)
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of PeThoria Match, our users, or the public
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at trinitytechpro@gmail.com. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

7. Children's Privacy

PeThoria Match is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most account and profile information directly in the app, manage notification and location permissions through your device settings, and contact us to exercise additional rights.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords, to help protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
